The ESL General Assembly 2015

18 February 2015
Von Krahl Theatre, 10 Rataskaevu St., Tallinn

the general assembly, the management board chaired by Urmo Vaikla presented the projects completed during 2014 and it was admitted that a number of great initiatives had been launched. The most important change for the ESL was the opening of its office at 4 Rüütli St. in the Tallinn Old Town, while the most important event for the interior architecture profession was certainly the launch and successful conduct of the international interior architecture symposium SISU at the beginning of June 2014.

According to the rules of the general assembly, the ESL’s annual report and audit report were approved, the plans for 2015 were presented, and the activity plan and budget for 2015 were approved.
As the current management board, advisory board and committees had functioned for two years, new elections were on the agenda. Urmo Vaikla put up his candidacy for the chairman of the management board, presented his plans and proposed the new management board members. Members were able to state their preferences on a pre-filled ballot; 77 members voted in the elections of 2015.

New Members

New members of the ESL were introduced while the votes were being counted. It was a pleasure to see that interest in ESL membership had grown and six young and active people joined the ESL last year: Ahti Grünberg, Tõnis Kalve, Ines Haak, Margit Teikari, Inara Tougjasa and Tuuli Trei. The ESL currently has 185 members.

Rules for granting the status of a supporting member of the ESL were drafted last year. With the status of a supporting member, the ESL wishes to value even more the contribution of its current partners and to encourage new partners to cooperate actively toward common goals. Supporting members have more chances to participate in the planning of the ESL and be well-informed of the activities of the ESL. The status of a supporting member is granted by a contract for one calendar year.

The formal part of the general assembly was followed by active socialising and a possibility to take a pictures together with good colleagues and friends. Photo memories of the general assembly on the ESL Facebook page.
